Research
Research programme in quantitative marine ecology and fisheries science.
My research programme integrates population dynamics, stock assessment, spatio-temporal ecology, environmental variability, statistical modelling, and reproducible scientific computing.
Core themes
- Fisheries population dynamics and stock assessment — recruitment, growth, selectivity, demographic structure, uncertainty, and management-oriented assessment.
- Spatio-temporal marine ecology — habitat, distribution shifts, accessibility, hotspots, fleet behaviour, and spatial models.
- Environmental variability and ecosystem responses — oceanographic and climatic drivers, ecosystem regimes, and pressure–state relationships.
- Statistical ecology and scientific computing — hierarchical, additive, mixed, Bayesian, multivariate, machine-learning, and reproducible workflows.
Research projects, papers, software, and teaching materials are maintained in dedicated repositories and linked from the corresponding sections of this site. The Data Sources section is a curated directory of external resources for students and collaborators; it is not a catalogue of datasets produced by me.
