Purpose

Pelagytics is a developing analytical platform concept intended to connect fisheries, biological, environmental, and spatial information through reproducible workflows, interpretable indicators, and decision-support products.

Scientific problem

Fisheries analyses are often distributed across disconnected scripts, spreadsheets, databases, figures, and reports. This fragmentation makes it difficult to update results consistently, trace assumptions, compare indicators, and communicate uncertainty.

  • Standardized data intake and quality-control workflows.
  • Reproducible calculation of biological, fisheries, and ecosystem indicators.
  • Spatio-temporal summaries of populations and fishing activity.

Development status

Concept and prototype development. Pelagytics is not currently released as a public operational platform. Its architecture, governance, licensing, data-access model, and minimum viable product still require formal definition and testing.
