Scientific question

How can an active anchoveta fishing season be compared objectively with historical seasons when opening dates, closures, quota levels, effective fishing days, and environmental conditions differ among years?

Analytical framework

The project evaluates three complementary season clocks—season day, effective fishing day, and quota progress—together with historical functional envelopes, indicator percentiles, analogue seasons, and environmental adjustment.

Current stage

The immediate target is construction and validation of the historical season dataset, including season metadata and harmonized analytical marts. The three season clocks must be reproducible before historical envelopes and analogue-season analyses are interpreted.

A methodological fisheries paper on standardized in-season benchmarking for highly variable small-pelagic fisheries.
