fishcore software paper
R
fisheries software
reproducibility
indicators
Decision-gated software-paper concept for a reusable R framework for standardized fisheries indicators and spatio-temporal analysis.
Purpose
This manuscript will be activated only if the underlying fishcore R framework matures into a sufficiently general, documented, tested, and reusable scientific software product to justify a dedicated software publication.
Evidence required before activation
- stable public API and semantic versioning;
- comprehensive documentation and automated tests;
- synthetic or open examples and reproducible vignettes;
- demonstrated reuse across multiple downstream products;
- a defensible gap relative to existing fisheries R packages.
Current stage
No substantial manuscript development is planned before the decision gate. Development effort should remain focused on software stabilization and demonstrated reuse.
Candidate output
A software paper, potentially for the Journal of Open Source Software or The R Journal, only if the publication criteria are met.
This is intentionally shown as a planned project rather than as an active publication. A private paper repository can exist as a decision gate without implying that a manuscript is already underway.
